Uncooperative

Standard

I won’t become your metaphor–
To fit my shape into your mind.
For when you think me, you ignore
The parts of me you cannot find.

Nor will I be your simile–
to be compared to what I’m not.
I am myself, that’s all I’ll be
and I don’t want to be forgot.

I loved this one…the wonderful parallel between the two stanzas and the delightful idea of an uncooperative poetic device personified in poetry…awesome!
